Prof. Dr. Ali UÇAN

Gazi University

Professor Dr Ali UÇAN was born in Üçpınar (Hocaköy) bound to the Bozkir district of Konya in 1941. In 1953, entered the Village Institute of Ivriz. In 1959 he finished the Istanbul Primary School Music Seminar and in 1962 he finished the Gazi Education Institute Music Department. Between 1962 and 1965 he studied undergraduate and specialist in music at the Cologne State High School of Music in Germany.He received his Bachelor of Science (1976), Master of Arts (1978) and Ph.D. (1982) from the Department of Educational Sciences at Hacettepe University. He received the degree of Art Proficiency at the Department of Music Education of Gazi University (1985).(1982-1985), Academic Member at GU Faculty of Education Turkish Music Education Research and Development Deapartment (1965-2008), Head of Department (1981,1985-1994) Vice Department Chef (1982- 1985) GU Center of Turkis Music Research and Developing President (1993- 2003). He gave lectures and conferences at various universities and directed theses and seminars; on duties as founder, manager, developer and consultant; performed solo violin, chamber music and orchestra concerts. He became founding member of European School Music Education Association on behalf of Turkey (1990), the core committee (1990-1994) and found a board member of the task (1994-2005). He was admitted to the Southern European Countries Music Education International Working Group ( ) (1991).Ministry of Education, NW, TRTTurkey National Commission for UNESCO, AKDTYK, found in a variety of tasks related in the field. Retired from GU Fine Arts Education Department Music Education Department in 2008. He continued to teach until 2013 and to lead the thesis. There are more than 400 scientific papers and articles presented and published at national and international events in Turkey and abroad. There are over 40 books, many book sections, 350 study pieces for violin education and 10 school songs with three options.

He is a founding member of Association of Music Educators and Association of Art Educators. He is the Founding Honorary President of the Turkish World Music Education Association.
